Leicester’s s***house celebration ‘violates Birmingham fans in their own stand’

Leicester City midfielder Stephy Mavididi marked his second goal against Birmingham City with one of the bolder celebrations you will see this season.

The 'Wagatha Christie derby', as it was coined by supporters in tribute to the famous libel battle between Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen and Jamie Vardy's spouse Rebekah, saw the Foxes overcome City 3-2 in the Championship. It is a match which will be remembered for a large number of cheeky Leicester fans wearing paper masks emblazoned with Vardy's face.

However, those who did stop looking at the amusing away contingent would have seen Mavididi, 25, celebrate an impressive brace with one of the cheekiest celebrations of the season. It was so bold, football fans were left aghast.

The former Juventus star stabbed home his second to give Enzo Maresca's side a 3-1 lead at St. Andrews. After watching the ball bobble into the back of the net, he nonchalantly climbed over the advertising barrier, sat on top of it, folded his arms and stared at a whole stand of furious Birmingham fans.

Many of them strode down the steps and gesticulated in his face, before his team-mates joined in with his joy. "How’s he got away with that celebration? Incredible s***housery," one fan commented.

"Doing this in the opposition fans' area is cold blooded," another added. "I know every slur under the sun was uttered right there," tweeted a third. A fourth said the Brummie fans were: "Violated in their own stand."

At the end of the game, Mavididi would have breathed a huge sigh of relief as Birmingham almost staged an impressive comeback. Jordan James scored his second goal of the game to halve the deficit and ensure a nerve-racking final 20 minutes for the away side.

However, as they have done on so many occasions, Maresca's side stood firm and managed to secure the three points. The result moved Leicester three points clear of second placed Ipswich Town and 15 clear of Leeds United in third.

Meanwhile, Rooney's side are languishing in 17th position, when they were in the promotion places before he took over.
