Wolff sets controversial Mercedes rules as Horner tells Perez his biggest flaw

It is race week for the penultimate time this season as the drivers and teams gear up for the first-ever Las Vegas Grand Prix. This weekend’s event promises to be the most memorable of the 2023 campaign.

Red Bull are targeting their 20th win of the season this weekend, but McLaren will be hoping that their superior tyre warm-up combined with the cold track temperatures that the paddock is braced for will put them in the mix.

There is less reason to be optimistic in the Mercedes camp off the back of their worst performance of the season in Brazil last time out. The Silver Arrows lost more ground to Ferrari in the Constructors’ Championship, bringing the gap down to 20 points in the battle for P2.

No Vegas antics at Mercedes

Toto Wolff has claimed that no member of his team will be hitting the famous casinos of the Las Vegas Strip this weekend.

F1 is heading to Sin City for the first time since 1982, and for the first time in history, cars will race on the actual streets of Las Vegas.

Discussing the weekend, Wolff said: “I’ve never been to Vegas. But we’re going to keep everybody out of the casinos. I don’t play, so I’m going to make sure that nobody plays.”

This weekend is critical for Mercedes in their battle against Ferrari in the Constructors’ Championship with the Scuderia now just 20 points behind heading into the final two races.
