Declan Rice netted a lovely strike for Arsenal as they trailed Chelsea on Saturday evening – thanks to a glaring error from Blues shot stopper Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea had been perfect against Arsenal on Saturday evening, and found themselves two goals to the good in the final stages of the game. However, Sanchez fluffed his lines when he cleared the ball to Rice.

And the Englishman took little time in picking up his head, and then picking out the far corner. Arsenal fans have loved the goal on social media, but Sanchez had also been criticised online.

"I told you Sanchez has an error in him lol it’s been coming for weeks," one fan fumed. While a second shared: "Honestly will never get this new trend of keepers knocking the ball about. You're there to stop the ball going in the back of the net, it's pretty simple!"

"Robert Sanchez cost us this game," a third fumed. And another added: "Crazy how that goal will trick everyone into thinking Rice has been good what on earth was Sanchez doing…"

Chelsea had been cruising to the three points up until the mistake, and minutes later Emile Smith Rowe found himself unmarked at the back post to nudge Arsenal level.

The Gunners remain undefeated this season – however, they are still not top of the table as Manchester City have the better goal difference of the two sides.
