Former Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has been taken to hospital in Uruguay after suffering an abdominal wound, according to reports in South America.<\/p>\n
Several publications have claimed Lavezzi, who retired from football in 2020, was taken to the Cantegrill Sanatorium hospital in Maldonado on December 20.<\/p>\n
It is unclear how Lavezzi, 38, sustained the injury with conflicting reports emerging.<\/p>\n
Lavezzi family sources have insisted he was wounded after slipping off a ladder while trying to change a light bulb, according to a report from TYC Sports.<\/p>\n
However, El Observador, citing police sources, have alleged Lavezzi was stabbed by a family member during a party, with emergency services called out at 5am.<\/p>\n

Clarin, meanwhile, say local police have not confirmed a stabbing incident.<\/p>\n
‘There is still no official report from the clinic and the severity of the 38-year-old former football player’s condition is unknown,’ the publication has stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Each of the reports say Lavezzi suffered a broken collarbone, with one outlet alleging this came from the former Napoli man hitting a piece of furniture during a fall.<\/p>\n
According to FM Gente, a radio station based in Maldonado, Lavezzi was accompanied by his girlfriend after being admitted to the local hospital.<\/p>\n
A police report said: ‘On December 20 at 05:00 police arrived at Arenas de Jose Ignacio, Secc Jurisdiction where they requested support from emergency services.\u00a0<\/p>\n
