Former Premier League defender Greg Halford once had to leave on loan, four days after receiving the keys to a house he had bought.

Halford, 39, became one of the many players to constantly find himself as a member of the loan army. The full back now plays for the popular Isthmian Football League side Hashtag United having joined them on a free transfer from Billericay Town in the summer of 2022.

However, he did go on to make 28 Premier League appearances over the course of spells with Reading, Sunderland and Wolves. But such was the regularity of his moves, he found himself heading to a new club soon after buying a house.
