Bournemouth have confirmed Darren Randolph is recovering after the goalkeeper was taken away on a stretcher having fallen unwell before a development squad match.<\/p>\n
The veteran goalkeeper was reportedly surrounded by medics and carried off in the warm-up before Tuesday’s Professional Development League game with Ipswich.<\/p>\n
Randolph had been due to start the match in goal for the Cherries development squad.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old reportedly complained of feeling unwell, leading to medical treatment and a 10-minute delay to kick-off in the match at the\u00a0Vitality Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bournemouth development squad head coach Alan Connell confirmed post-match that Randolph was feeling ‘much better’ despite the worrying sight of the goalkeeper being taken off on a stretcher.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Darren Randolph felt unwell in the warm-up and needed medical attention,’ Connell said.<\/p>\n
‘All the medical team were straight on to help him, which was great.<\/p>\n
‘Pleased that he is back in now and feeling much better and left the stadium of his own accord.<\/p>\n
‘We’re really happy with the outcome.<\/p>\n
It’s a shame he didn’t play tonight but obviously his health is the most important thing.’<\/p>\n
The Bournemouth Echo reported that Randolph passed all medical checks, with the goalkeeper cleared to leave the stadium of his own accord.<\/p>\n
Cameron Plain replaced\u00a0Randolph in the starting eleven for the development squad match, which Ipswich won 3-1 at at the Vitality Stadium.<\/p>\n
Randolph is yet to start for Bournemouth’s first team since being signed as cover last January from West Ham.<\/p>\n
The Republic of Ireland international is serving as the back-up to Neto and\u00a0Ionu\u021b Radu.<\/p>\n
