Manchester United have banned journalists from Erik ten Hag's press conferences.

On Tuesday morning, the Manchester Evening News announced they were among the news outlets who had been banned by the club from attending press conferences.

And the news comes in the wake of Man Utd's dismal Saturday night defeat to Newcastle United, just days after they let slip a 3-1 lead against Galatasaray in the Champions League to put them on the brink of exiting Europe all together.

Alongside the MEN, three other outlets have also been banned from attending ten Hag's pressers. Last month, the Times was also banned from attending after having written the Dutchman, who has over seen the worst start to a season at Old Trafford since the club were last relegated back in 1974, was on "thin ice".

And the decision to ban the MEN stems from their reporting that ten Hag is losing the confidence of his players over his tactics and signings – a story they stand by.
