Erling Haaland was left furious after Manchester City’s draw with Tottenham on Sunday, having played Jack Grealish through on goal in the dying embers of the game only for referee Simon Hooper to inexplicably pull play back. The Sky Blues striker was a ball of rage while walking off the pitch, and an altercation with Giovani Lo Celso saw staff members from both teams chime in.

Haaland had a frustrating game against the north Londoners, missing a handful of gilt-edged chances to send City sailing off into the sunset. Phil Foden and Jack Grealish put the hosts in front twice on the night, but Spurs ultimately reaped the rewards for staying within touching distance.

Dejan Kulusevski scored a 90th-minute header to tie the game up at 3-3 after earlier strikes from Son Heung-min and Lo Celso, sparking bedlam among the travelling fans.

But the height of the drama was still to come. After being tripped in front of the referee, Haaland instantly got back to his feet and played a superb ball over the top to send Grealish through on goal.

Hooper initially signalled to play the advantage when Haaland hit the ground, but curiously pulled play back when his pass found its mark. City staff were left furious that the phase of play was not allowed to run its course as Grealish had a golden chance to win the game.

Haaland erupted after the final whistle, storming towards the tunnel before barging Lo Celso. Believing that the Spurs midfielder had purposefully walked in front of him to initiate the contact, the City man turned around and began bellowing in a furious exchange.
