Darwin Nunez’s bold new look caused a stir on social media as fans joked he looks like a schoolgirl.

The Liverpool striker arrived at Anfield and left fans stunned as he sported two plaited braids which dangled by his shoulders in a brazen and frankly ridiculous new look.

Fans on social media quickly reacted as videos as images of the Uruguayan striker swapping his customary man bun were shared before he started for Liverpool in their Sunday Premier League kick-off against Fulham.

Nunez has had a stuttering start to the season in front of goal to say the least. After scoring a brilliant brace off the bench against Newcastle United in August, Nunez has found the net just twice in the Premier League since and has instead added to his catalogue of sitters.

Despite his goal shy run of late in the league, Nunez started his fifth game in a row for the Reds against Fulham, as Jurgen Klopp opted to leave Cody Gakpo on the bench despite the Dutchman scoring twice in the 4-0 midweek Europa League win against LASK Linz.
