<\/p>\nWycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Max Stryjek needs more lessons in the art of time wasting after he made an embarrassingly costly mistake to gift Barnsley a last-minute winner.<\/p>\n
EFL action in midweek saw a stuttering Barnsley side host flagging Wycombe at Oakwell as the visitors looked to pull off a shock and pick up their first league win since October 7.<\/p>\n
After putting in a resolute performance for 90 minutes, Wycombe looked set for a point against the promotion hopefuls. As per any match, 'keeper Stryjek was pulling out all the time wasting stops to drag Matt Bloomfield\u2019s side closer to ending their run of back-to-back defeats. However, in one of the most bizarre goals seen for a long time, Stryjek completely c**ked things up and gifted Sam Cosgrove the easiest goal of his life.<\/p>\n

The former Poland youth international keeper had the ball at his feet inside the Wycombe penalty box and stood waiting for Cosgrove put pressure on him, before he picked the ball up in classic (and infuriating) time wasting fashion.<\/p>\n
But as Stryjek picked the ball up with Cosgrove on his toes, the Tykes striker gave him the tiniest of nudges. Stryjek fell dramatically to the floor in order to kill more precious seconds. Yet, as he hit the ground, his momentum caused the ball to pop out of his clutches and roll across the penalty box.<\/p>\n

Instinctively, Cosgrove took one touch to manoeuvre the ball around the fallen keeper and duly tapped home into an empty net. At first neither player reacted to the goal as both presumably believed the incident would be given a foul. But to Cosgrove and Barnsley\u2019s joy, the goal was confirmed, sparking wild celebrations in the home end and leaving Stryjek apoplectic.<\/p>\n
Despite the obvious keeper howler, fans on social media couldn\u2019t believe that a foul wasn\u2019t given. One fan commented: \u201cWith all the protection keepers get, is that not the most obvious foul on the keeper you\u2019ll ever see.\u201d A second said: \u201cWeird but it\u2019s a foul on the keeper as he literally pushed him over.\u201d<\/p>\n
A third added: \u201cThe keeper has control of the ball with 2 hands on it… so that's just a foul all day long right, even if it is a "soft" foul with the keeper probably trying to waste even more time.\u201d<\/p>\n
