Betfair has launched the Rachael Blackmore’s Serial Winners Fund, which celebrates and recognises the determination and hard work of jockeys in the world of racing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The charity initiative\u00a0launches in conjunction with the latest instalment of the betting company’s \u2018Serial Winner\u2019 documentary series, focusing on 34-year-old Blackmore.<\/p>\n
Proceeds will be evenly split between the Injured Jockeys Fund and Irish Injured Jockeys, charities which improve the lives of jockeys in the UK and Ireland.\u00a0<\/p>\n
There is an initial \u00a3100,000 donation by Betfair to start off the fund, with\u00a0an additional \u00a35,000 added every time Blackmore rides a winner between Saturday’s Betfair Chase Day and Grand National Day on Saturday 13th April.<\/p>\n
She has ridden an average of 30 winners per year during that time, which could see the fund balloon to \u00a3250,000 before the end of the jumping season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Blackmore said it was great Betfair were supporting two charities important to jockeys<\/p>\n

Betfair Ambassador Blackmore said: ‘This is a very generous initiative from Betfair and one that I am excited to be a part of over the coming season. The work of IIJ and IJF is vital in providing support services for jockeys past and present.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘It\u2019s great to have Betfair supporting not only me, but two organisations that are so important to us as jockeys.’<\/p>\n
Lisa Hancock, CEO of the Injured Jockeys Fund, added: ‘We are very grateful to Betfair who have been great supporters of the Injured Jockeys Fund for many years.<\/p>\n
‘Rachael of course is an inspiration to all aspiring jockeys, and we will be hoping she kicks home plenty of winners over the coming months.’<\/p>\n
Blackmore is at Punchestown in Ireland on Saturday, with five rides booked across the day’s racing, including San Guido, Senior Chief and Walk Away.\u00a0<\/p>\n
