Manchester City poked fun at their arch-enemies with a playful compilation of their stars sailing knees-first across the Old Trafford turf.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The video shows Erling Haaland, Lauren Hemp, Phil Foden, and Khadija Shaw sliding across the hallowed green expanse when celebrating their goals this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
City beat United 3-1 on Sunday to overtake them in the Women’s Super League while they put their rivals to the sword 3-0 in the Premier League in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Every City knee slide at Old Trafford this season!’ the club posted on X with a saluting emoji.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rubbing salt in United’s wounds in such brazen fashion is only sure to stoke the historic rivalry between the clubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Manchester City mocked their rivals by showing their players sliding on the Old Trafford turf<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The club have two wins at Old Trafford in the 2023\/24 season with an aggregate score of 6-1<\/p>\n

‘There\u2019s no way y\u2019all cooked United this badly,’ wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘The OLD TRAFFORD is a training ground for Manchester City,’ gloated another.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Theatre of knee slides,’ quipped one user.<\/p>\n
But United fans hit back hard in the comments section.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Sliding into the Championship,’ joked one individual.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Small club mentality,’ added another.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘Nahhhh! This wasn’t necessary,’ was the verdict of another.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is worth noting that for all of City’s joys at Old Trafford this season, they have a mixed record when hosting the Red Devils.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the men’s game, United have won four of their last eight trips to the Etihad, so their social media admins could well turn the tables in March.<\/p>\n
However, in the women’s game, United are yet to beat City away since being promoted to the WSL, so still have work to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Phil Foden was one of Manchester City’s scorers in a 3-0 win back in October and the social emdia admins made full use of his joy\u00a0<\/p>\n
