His father, Luis Manuel Diaz, was held captive by a Colombian guerrilla group for 12 days until his release last week.<\/p>\n

The star\u2019s mother, Cilenis, \u00adwas also taken by the National Liberation Army on October 28 but was rescued hours later.<\/p>\n

They, along with the 26-year-old winger\u2019s wider family, arrived at Liverpool\u2019s John Lennon Airport on a private jet paid for by the club yesterday morning.<\/p>\n

Diaz was reunited with his \u00adparents when he returned to Colombia for international duty earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The pair were in the crowd to see their son score both goals in an emotional 2-1 victory at home to Brazil on Thursday. It is understood that following the game Liverpool FC hired the private jet for security reasons and to help manage the family\u2019s trauma.<\/p>\n
