Have you taken Havant & Waterlooville to the Champions League final, or won the World Cup with Honduras? Well, National League side Bromley might just have a job for you!

The south London club are on the hunt for a new tactics coach and have announced plans to hire a Football Manager player for the role. They've teamed up with Sports Interactive, who develop the manager simulation computer game, as well as with Xbox to launch a competition to find the perfect candidate.

Announcing the bold campaign, called 'The Everyday Tactician', via the club's social media accounts, Bromley boss Andy Woodman said: "We all know when it comes to football, fans have strong opinions. Today we're looking for Bromley's next tactician – and it could be you!

"We've partnered with Xbox to create an application process in Football Manager 2024," he added. "Anyone can apply. We can't wait to see the talent out there."

The winner will be appointed to Woodman's coaching team and will be tasked with providing players and staff with tactical suggestions. They'll initially be handed a five-month contract, though it could be made permanent should the successful candidate excel in the role.

Sports Interactive’s studio director Miles Jacobson said: "Football fans are full of opinions on how their team can do better on the pitch. Now with the help of Xbox and Bromley FC we can finally find out if their theories are right and follow the journey of 'The Everyday Tactician’. I expect there might be a bit more to it than even we at Football Manager anticipate."

Woodman added: "At Bromley FC, we pride ourselves on being a community club, so we're very much looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic supporter to our backroom staff. There are definitely plenty out there who know how to guide us to glory in the Football Manager game, so we're excited to welcome someone who can replicate that in the real world."

Job hopefuls must complete the Xbox achievement 'Championes' in Football Manager 2024 on PC with PC Games Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, or on console with Game Pass for Console or Game Pass Ultimate – which involves leading a team of their choosing to a domestic league title. Candidates must also include a minute-long video in their application explaining why they should win the competition.

Bromley are flying high in the National League at the moment. They're fourth in the table with just three defeats in 19 games so far, and are 11 points behind league-leaders Chesterfield. Promotion this season would see them get into the Football League for the first time in their 131-year history. So… no pressure FM players!
