Conor McGregor says he is ready to fight anybody ‘completely out of the blue’ – after UFC chief Dana White said he is not set for a return until next summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Notorious had hinted that he would make his comeback in April\u00a02024, having not fought since he broke his tibia against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, White said that a ‘realistic’ return date for the Irishman\u00a0would be in the summer next year.<\/p>\n
McGregor took to X, formerly Twitter, to clarify that he is prepared to take on any challenge at any time.<\/p>\n
He posted: ‘I promise the UFC would never even have announce to me who I am fighting, they could do a surprise announcement out of nowhere, a date, an opponent, completely out of the blue.<\/p>\n

Conor McGregor said that he would fight ‘anyone, at any time’ – even in a ‘surprise’ fight<\/p>\n
‘Absolutely anyone, at any time, and I\u2019d be in the gym prepping tactics for it. This is legally binding.’<\/p>\n
Around an April return, he had said: ‘April is a lovely run-up for me and I\u2019d be happy with that,’ McGregor said. ‘I\u2019m in a good spot, I\u2019ve been training – I\u2019ve been leaving also. But I\u2019ve been training and April seems like a good time to come back.\u2019<\/p>\n
His rumoured next opponent is No 5 lightweight Michael Chandler.<\/p>\n
Despite a 2-3 record in the UFC (23-8 MMA), Chandler has been one of the most explosive and entertaining fighters since joining promotion.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The former Bellator champion has four fight-night bonuses in his five UFC outings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He would face a fearsome opponent in McGregor, who was named in former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka’s top five MMA fighters of all time.<\/p>\n
McGregor has had an iconic career in\u00a0UFC after rising through the ranks to eventually become the first fighter ever in the promotion to be champion in two weight classes at the same time.<\/p>\n
The former featherweight and lightweight champion has been out of the Octagon for a long time and the sport await his return eagerly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
