Ben Foster was left baffled when Andros Townsend revealed the unusual dinner choice he has every night, which has been credited with extending the winger’s career.<\/p>\n
Townsend, 32, joined Luton Town as a free agent in October after the expiry of his Everton contract, and has made three appearances for the Hatters so far.<\/p>\n
While talking about his longevity on a podcast, Townsend revealed how his dinner was helping to keep him going, although the unusual selection was baffling to Foster and his co-host Tom Ochoa.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Townsend told\u00a0Fozcast – The Ben Foster Podcast: ‘For dinner every night, I eat chicken feet. Steamed chicken feet.’<\/p>\n
Foster replies ‘No you don’t!’, to which the Luton star says ‘I swear to you, I swear to you’.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The revelation stunned podcast host Ben Foster, before Townsend explained the situation<\/p>\n
On asked for the reasoning behind the choice of a chicken feet dinner, Townsend explained: ‘The collagen in the chicken feet, there’s the cartilage. There’s basically so much goodness that now they put it into pills and put into shots. The daily pills you take at training is mainly from chicken feet and random stuff like that.’<\/p>\n
The former England international revealed that bulk online orders are made to deliver the chicken feet to his home, where he freezes it down for future consumption.<\/p>\n
Townsend explained that while the feet could be boiled, he puts them in a steam oven for 20 minutes. He says: ‘It’s lovely. Honestly, it’s like a chicken wing, but a chicken foot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘You obviously don’t eat the bone, but you have to eat as much of the cartilage and as close to the bone as possible. Like the nails, I have to eat close to the nails.’<\/p>\n
Both presenters were seen to be in disbelief at the explanation, and Ochoa described Townsend’s process as ‘amazing’.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Luton star explained he ate close to the nails and bone for the best nutrients in the feet<\/p>\n
Last month,\u00a0Townsend revealed he was determined to reward Luton’s faith after coming off the bench to help the Hatters\u00a0salvage a point at Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n
Luton offered Townsend a contract until January after the 32-year-old impressed during a training session.<\/p>\n
He said:\u00a0\u2018I\u2019ve got three months to get myself in the best condition possible and 12 more games to prove I deserve to be here.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
Luton Town, who currently sit in 17th place in the Premier League, travel to Manchester United for their final game before the international break.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
