They took full advantage of a team trying to limp its way into the international break.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If not for Nick Pope, they would have had many more than Dominic Solanke&#8217;s two goals to show for their positive performance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/19\/77687403-0-image-a-52_1699729221091.jpg\" height=\"415\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Dominic Solanke scored twice as Bournemouth defeated Newcastle 2-0 at Vitality Stadium<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/19\/77687425-0-image-a-53_1699729226828.jpg\" height=\"400\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Frontman Solanke crashed home the opening goal at the near post to punish the Magpies<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/11\/19\/77687447-0-image-a-54_1699729246058.jpg\" height=\"410\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The victory propelled Andoni Iraola&#8217;s side out of the drop zone and three points clear of 18th<\/p>\n<p>This was a big boost for Bournemouth&#8217;s scrap for survival this season \u2013 the perfect response to last week&#8217;s 6-1 loss to Manchester City. They played what was in front of them and deserved the win.<\/p>\n<p>Newcastle&#8217;s medical team is going to be busy over this upcoming break. Their list of absentees for this trip was so severe that you could practically field an XI out of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It would involve a back four of Javi Manquillo, Dan Burn, Sven Botman and Matt Targett; a midfield three of Tonali, Guimaraes and Elliot Anderson; a front three of Jacob Murphy, Alexander Isak and Harvey Barnes.<\/p>\n<p>There was no homecoming for Callum Wilson, either. He was nursing a tight hamstring after that midweek Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n<p>Newcastle&#8217;s injury crisis meant Miley became their youngest-ever Premier League starter at 17 while the substitutes&#8217; bench was loaded with three youngsters in Amadou Diallo, Alex Murphy and Parkinson.<\/p>\n<p>As if they could smell the blood of their wounded, Bournemouth seized upon Newcastle from the get-go as Pope was needed twice within two minutes. Only Pope stood between him and the lead, but Solanke took so long to shoot that Jamaal Lascelles was allowed to recover in time to produce a sensational sliding block.<\/p>\n<p>When Fabian Schar dropped down injured, Newcastle feared the worst. Thankfully, he carried on. He denied Justin Kluivert&#8217;s smart strike and Christie&#8217;s bouncing drive before Semenyo dragged his shot wide ahead of half-time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the break, Kieran Trippier&#8217;s wide free-kick evaded every head in the Bournemouth box but needed scrambling away by Neto.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Newcastle may have been limping towards the international break, but they had decided to give it a go in this second half. In the 60th minute, however, Bournemouth led 1-0.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It started with Joe Willock trying to intercept the ball but serving only to knock it behind Newcastle&#8217;s back line. Solanke pounced on it quicker than Schar and Tino Livramento, pummelling his shot as Pope was beaten at his near post.<\/p>\n<p>In the 66th minute, Miley was replaced by Parkinson, the 18-year-old striker. Become the hero and it would be a long time before he would have to buy his own drink in Newcastle again.<\/p>\n<p>Yet it was Bournemouth who scored next, making it 2-0 when Solanke flicked in a goalmouth scramble.
