No. 4 UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall and No 2 Sergei Pavlovich are both officially eligible to win interim gold at UFC 295 after successfully weighing in on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
The heavyweight co-headliners stepped onto the scales in the second hour of weigh-ins, with Aspinall having a 1.8lbs advantage over his counterpart.<\/p>\n
The Englishman weighed in at 10:00 AM sharp, registering 261.6lbs. 14 minutes later, the Russian knockout artist, Pavlovich, tipped the scales at 259.8lbs.<\/p>\n
At Thursday’s press conference, Aspinall addressed how his ability to move around despite his heavyweight stature will be the key to his victory on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
‘I’m not gonna stand in the middle of the cage and have a shootout with him, I’m not gonna have a d***-measuring competition with him,’ Aspinall joked. ‘Both literally and figuratively because he’ll probably win both. We’ll see what happens.’<\/p>\n

Pavlovich and Aspinall were added to UFC 295 after Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic was cancelled<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Pavlovich gave a straight answer when asked about being considered the underdog despite his higher ranking.<\/p>\n
‘I’m not a betting man, so I don’t care,’ Pavlovich said through an interpreter.<\/p>\n
Aspinall and Pavlovich got inserted into the UFC 295 card after the undisputed heavyweight championship fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic got canceled.<\/p>\n
Aspinall is 13-3 with ten knockout victories. Across the cage will be the 18-1 Pavlovich, who knocked out his last six opponents. Since entering the UFC, both men have averaged under three minutes in the Octagon.<\/p>\n
UFC 295 will take place in Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n
