<\/p>\nA football team turned off the lights to their stadium after losing the league title to their fierce rivals.<\/p>\n
Alianza Lima, the 21-time champions of Peru's top flight, were defending their crown as they welcomed Universitario to the Estadio Alejandro Villanueva on Wednesday (November 8) night. <\/p>\n
The first leg of their title-deciding play-off had finished 1-1, so it was all to play for. But Universitario raced into an early lead, with forward Edison Flores netting inside three minutes.<\/p>\n

It didn't dampen the mood of the victorious Universitario squad though, and they celebrated on the pitch regardless with staff using their phone torches as they tried to capture the jubilant scenes.<\/p>\n
It's their first league triumph in a decade. But unfortunately it was marred by violence post-match as fighting broke out on the streets between the two sets of fans.<\/p>\n

It was also claimed that the home supporters set off flares and threw them onto the pitch after the second goal was scored, in a last-ditch attempt to get game the abandoned and stop their rivals from winning.<\/p>\n
