Former Premier League striker Asamoah Gyan has been told to pay compensation to his ex-wife after it was determined that he is the biological father of their three children.<\/p>\n
Gyan and his ex-wife, Gifty, have been embroiled in a legal battle for three years, with the former Ghana captain insisting their kids were not his.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As reported by the BBC, the 37-year-old was ordered to take a DNA test which disproved his claims.<\/p>\n
A court in the African country have ordered Gyan to gift his ex-wife, a house in the UK, another home in Accra, a petrol station and two cars.<\/p>\n
It was also ruled that the former Sunderland, Udinese and Rennes forward must pay 25,000 Ghanaian cedis (\u00a31,729) per month for the children.<\/p>\n

Gyan posted this response to an article about the court ruling on social media platform X<\/p>\n

Gyan took to social media on Tuesday in which he replied to a user who posted an article on the court ruling.<\/p>\n
He replied: ‘If I have 10pts and I keep quiet cos I’m matured, and you have 2 pts and you going find public sympathy, then it’s cool.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘You are very funny. This is deep so think about.’<\/p>\n
It’s said the court ruled that Gifty had made a non-cash contribution to the purchase of the homes, because she was the only one caring for the kids while Gyan plied his football career.<\/p>\n
The four-bedroom house in Accra had been bought for her prior to their 2013 marriage.<\/p>\n
Their marriage was annulled though following a petition by the ex-Sunderland star.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Gyan announced his retirement from football in June, having scored a national record 51 goals in 109 games for Ghana.<\/p>\n

Gyan famously missed a penalty in Ghana’s World Cup exit to Uruguay in 2010 after Luis Suarez stopped an effort off the line with a blatant handball<\/p>\n
Impressive performances at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa saw him shortlisted alongside Diego Forlan and Wesley Sneijder for player of the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The tournament ended in pain for his country though as he smashed a penalty off the crossbar after Luis Suarez handballed an effort off the line in the dying moments of the game. Uruguay would advance to the semi-finals at Ghana’s expense.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He played for Sunderland between 2010 and 2012, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances.<\/p>\n
Gyan then moved to Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates, before later having spells in Turkey, India and retiring after a stint at Ghanian side Legon Cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
