Manchester United are reportedly among the teams interested in signing AC Milan star Rafael Leao. Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also linked with the Portugal star, who could push for an exit next summer.

United spent around £190million on new signings in the most recent transfer window. Erik ten Hag spent big in attack, bringing in Denmark star Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for a fee of up to £72m.

Mason Mount and Andre Onana were the two other high-profile arrivals but all three are yet to set alight their Old Trafford careers. Ten Hag’s side have lost five of their opening 10 Premier League matches of the season and crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a heavy defeat against Newcastle on Wednesday.

United will surely look at upcoming windows to continue to add quality to their squad. And it appears Leao could be one player they attempt to bring in.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato says the Red Devils are among the clubs keeping an eye on his situation. The forward would likely cost a huge fee, though, after only signing a new contract in July to keep him in Milan until 2028.

The same report says Leao could decide to leave, or Milan could choose to sell him, for the right offer. The forward reacted angrily after he was substituted off during Sunday’s 2-2 Serie A draw at Napoli.

It is claimed that Milan boss Stefano Pioli is having difficulty managing the 24-year-old. Leao is yet to hit his normal heights this season, with three goals and three assists to his name in 10 Serie A appearances.
