She&#8217;s alright &#8211; when she&#8217;s walking, she&#8217;s alright.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>City issued a further update on their defender, who received treatment for more than 10 minutes on the field before being taken off and replaced by Chelsea&#8217;s Jess Carter.<\/p>\n<p>A statement on City&#8217;s website on Wednesday morning said: &#8216;Alex Greenwood will return to the City Football Academy for further medical assessments after sustaining a head injury on international duty.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/01\/12\/77269195-12697621-image-a-40_1698843241344.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Alex Greenwood came off worse after a nasty clash of heads during England&#8217;s game against Belgium on Tuesday night<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/01\/12\/77269225-12697621-image-a-43_1698843435013.jpg\" height=\"447\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Greenwood received treatment on the pitch for over 10 minutes after the collision<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/01\/12\/77269229-12697621-image-a-42_1698843306940.jpg\" height=\"135\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Lionesses confirmed afterwards that she was conscious, and she is now set to return to England<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We can confirm she has been carefully monitored, is alert and well and will return home later today ahead of a review with our medical team.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>England&#8217;s hopes of progressing in the competition suffered a blow following a second loss, with Belgium leapfrogging the Lionesses into second place in their group after a seesaw encounter in Leuven.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium took the lead through Laura de Neve but an England side missing several key players hit back through Lucy Bronze and Fran Kirby before a leveller from Tessa Wullaert, who then scored a penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Former England captain Faye White believes this will be a good test of the resolve of the Euro 2022 champions and Women&#8217;s World Cup finalists and called on them to be more clinical in front of goal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think after major tournaments in the past, England have always gone into really easy qualifying group games and this Nations League is a good test now because it&#8217;s higher quality opposition, almost like the knockouts or a group stage of a of a tournament,&#8217; White told BBC Radio 5 Live.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s dealing with all these different factors, plus (they had) two real key players still out, waiting for Beth Mead and Leah Williamson to come back.
