Manchester United icon Paul Scholes received a telling-off from TNT Sports host Laura Woods as he was accused of breaking one of the broadcaster\u2019s microphones during their Champions League coverage. The pair were previewing United\u2019s clash with Copenhagen alongside Rio Ferdinand, but Scholes suffered an issue with some of the equipment.<\/p>\n

As Scholes was providing his analysis before the game, viewers had a difficult time hearing the former United midfielder as his microphone appeared to stop working. Woods then had to hold her mic up to Scholes before the behind-the-scenes crew were able to find a spare.<\/p>\n

At the end of the segment, Woods joked to Scholes as she said: “Stop breaking the mics… what are you doing?” Before Ferdinand added: \u201cHe\u2019s throwing them away!\u201d Scholes then mimicked throwing his mic in frustration as he was not able to communicate with the viewers.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the audio issues were fixed once the team returned from the break and Scholes was able to discuss the faltering United team and Erik ten Hag\u2019s job security while Sir Jim Ratcliffe attempts to purchase a 25 per cent stake in the club. He has been tipped to also oversee the sporting side of United should the deal go through, bringing fresh scrutiny over the head coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s hard to say,\u201d Scholes replied when asked about Ten Hag\u2019s future with Ratcliffe involved. \u201cI think he\u2019s been a very good coach so far, I like him. He\u2019s been ruthless in a job that is incredibly difficult, he\u2019s essentially been thrown out to the lions in the sense of answering every single question thrown at him by the media and I think he\u2019s handled it really well.<\/p>\n

\u201cHas he put a team together that is good enough to challenge for the Premier League? No, but it looked like a good start towards the end of last season.<\/p>\n
