Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Henderson’s influence helped a Scottish singer reach number one in the Saudi Arabian Spotify charts.<\/p>\n
Amy Macdonald reached the stratospheric height with her hit ‘This Is The Life’, which is from 2007.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The song has over 380million plays – far more than her next most trending song, which has 54m.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That’s because clips showing Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Henderson playing in the Saudi Pro League have been shared on TikTok with Macdonald’s song as the soundtrack.<\/p>\n
‘I had started noticing I was getting a lot of comments in Arabic on social media,’ Macdonald told the Restless Natives\u00a0podcast.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I was like “it looks lovely but I’ve got no idea what it says” and there was just more and more of it.<\/p>\n
‘Somebody looked into it and there seems to be a lot of videos on social media using ‘This Is the Life’ that are like Ronaldo playing football in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
‘I said to one of my mates about it and they sent me a photoshop of Jordan Henderson wearing an Amy Macdonald tee-shirt.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
Originally, Macdonald’s song reached number one in six countries after being released but only made it to No 28 in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Videos with compilations showing players such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Victor Osimhen have also been shared.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December on a \u00a3175million-per-year deal after his dramatic exit from Manchester United.<\/p>\n
Jordan Henderson, meanwhile, joined Al-Ettifaq in the summer after a protracted transfer saga and is mooted to be on \u00a3700,000 per week, though he has claimed the figure is not that high.\u00a0<\/p>\n
