NBA star LeBron James, NFL legend Peyton Manning and former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama could join forces on a new Netflix basketball show, according to a report.<\/p>\n
James and Manning, who own SpringHill Company and Omaha Productions respectively, have already produced hit programming in the entertainment field – including Omaha’s ‘Quarterback’ series.<\/p>\n
And now, according to the Wall Street Journal, the companies are in discussions to spinoff the NFL-focused show into a basketball version.<\/p>\n
Starring Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota in its first iteration, the show followed the trio throughout the 2022 NFL season and offered behind the scenes access.<\/p>\n
It’s not clear who would star in the basketball version of the show, if it is produced.<\/p>\n

There are reportedly discussions ongoing with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And even the production company of Barack and Michelle Obama is said to be involved<\/p>\n
Along with SpringHill and Omaha, Higher Ground Productions – the production company of the Obamas – is involved in discussions for the show, the WSJ said.<\/p>\n
The NBA is also said to be involved.<\/p>\n
Following his legendary playing career, Manning has earned plaudits with the Omaha-produced ‘Manningcast,’ an alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football with his brother and fellow ex-player Eli Manning.<\/p>\n
SpringHill, meanwhile, was involved in the ‘Space Jam’ sequel starring James, and produces the star’s popular discussion show ‘The Shop’ for YouTube.<\/p>\n
Per the WSJ, Omaha has been valued at $410 million while SpringHill was valued at around $725 in 2021.<\/p>\n
James will return for his 21st NBA season on Tuesday as the Lakers face the Nuggets.<\/p>\n
