Getafe boss Jose Bordalas may have some choice words for Mason Greenwood after the loan star recently breached team protocols.

That's after the forward's dad, Andrew, was spotted in Madrid picking up a Burger King order on the eve of Saturday's home clash against Real Betis. The Sun reported Getafe chief Bordalas enforces strict rules on his players prohibiting fast food.

But the Manchester United forward – who was sent to La Liga on temporary terms despite having charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control dropped – appeared to have bent those laws. At least one might assume that was the case after father Andrew brought two bags back to the Mercedes SUV in which Greenwood was sat.

One would be forgiven for assuming one of the bags was for the one-cap England international, given he and his dad were the only occupants at the time. The photos were purportedly taken a day prior to Getafe's 1-1 draw with Real Betis, in which Greenwood played 78 minutes before being subbed off.

According to The Sun, Bordalas weighs his players daily in a bid to keep their compositions under control. Though it appears a cheeky burger trip didn't affect Greenwood's chances over the weekend.

That's assuming his manager was made aware of the fast-food forage – or that Greenwood is exempt to certain rules. Whatever the case, both coach and player will be hoping it doesn't become the beginning of a pattern for the forward.

Greenwood completed a Deadline Day move to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and recently scored his first goal for Getafe. The 22-year-old put his side 2-1 up against Celta Vigo before settling for a draw just prior to the international break.

Getafe are currently 11th in La Liga and hoping to flip their fortunes as they hunt a first top-half finish since 2020. Greenwood could have a big role to play in that pursuit, though limiting the fried food intake may be critical in that regard.
