Formula One is back across the Atlantic this weekend as the 18th race of the 2023 season takes place with the US Grand Prix at the Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas. Max Verstappen has already been crowned this year’s world champion but is looking to win his 15th race of the season after a record-breaking year of near-total dominance.

The Dutchman cannot be caught but Redbull team-mate Sergio Perez is second in the drivers’ standings and is being chased by Lewis Hamilton, with the Brit 30 points adrift.

Meanwhile, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri is chasing a target of his own. The Australian rookie is currently on 83 points in his debut season, just 26 shy of Hamilton’s all-time record for a rookie, set in 2007.

The US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas will take place on Sunday, October 22, starting at 8pm UK time. That’s 2pm local time in Texas.

Fans attending the US Grand Prix better take some suncream with them. According to BBC Weather, spectators can expect temperatures as high as 30 degrees with plenty of cloud cover and a gentle breeze. There is no chance of it raining, that’s for sure.

Drivers will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the stifling conditions of the Qatar Grand Prix, however, where Logan Sargeant was forced to retire, Esteban Ocon threw up in his helmet and Lance Stroll complained of having blurred vision, such was the intensity of the heat.

The full race will be shown live on Sky Sports F1. Coverage of the race is scheduled to get underway at 6.30pm UK time on Sunday before the race itself begins at 8pm.

Sky Sports subscribers will be able to live stream the race via the Sky Sports app using a mobile, tablet or computer.
