{"id":294357,"date":"2023-10-20T10:24:03","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T10:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/?p=294357"},"modified":"2023-10-20T10:24:03","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T10:24:03","slug":"khamzat-chimaev-cruelly-set-up-in-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/mma\/khamzat-chimaev-cruelly-set-up-in-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"Khamzat Chimaev cruelly set up in interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>UFC 294 co-main event star Khamzat Chimaev plays &#8216;smash or pass&#8217; about rivals in his division&#8230; but fans point out Chechen has been cruelly set up by interviewer<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Khamzat Chimaev faces Kamaru Usman in the co-main event of UFC 294<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Usman has stepped in to replace the injured Paulo Costa on Saturday night<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Chimaev amusingly misunderstood the &#8216;smash or pass&#8217; game in an interview<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Khamzat Chimaev found himself the victim of the joke as he underwent an interview ahead of his long-awaited return to the octagon on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Chimaev, who holds a perfect 12-0 record in mixed martial arts, faces Kamaru Usman in the co-main event of UFC 294 on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Former welterweight champion Usman is a late replacement for the injured Paulo Costa but most fans would argue that this is a bigger and better fight.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the bout, Chechen Chimaev sat down with social media influencer Nina-Marie Daniele, who couldn&#8217;t resist an opportunity to take advantage of the language barrier.<\/p>\n<p>The interviewer had Chimaev play the &#8216;smash or pass&#8217; game, which usually involves the player revealing who they would and wouldn&#8217;t want to have intimate relations with.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down for video\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/20\/09\/76791675-12652903-image-a-30_1697792371306.jpg\" height=\"544\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/20\/09\/76791677-12652903-image-m-29_1697792366706.jpg\" height=\"544\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>UFC star Khamzat Chimaev was cruelly tricked into playing a game of &#8216;smash or pass&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>However, Chimaev was told that the term &#8216;smash&#8217; referred to smashing someone in the cage.<\/p>\n<p>Daniele proceeded to list a series of middleweights such as Sean Strickland, Israel Adesnaya and Costa and couldn&#8217;t hide her amusement as Chimaev said he would smash all of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chimaev&#8217;s misunderstanding of the game was clear as he went on to talk about how much money he could make from those potential fights.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;So much money,&#8217; he went on. &#8216;Imagine I fight all of these guys. Crazy.
