<\/p>\nSir Jim Ratcliffe\u2019s \u00a31.4billion investment at Manchester United is reportedly \u2018facing delays\u2019 and could seriously impact the club\u2019s January transfer window.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe\u2019s deal to take a 25 per cent stake in United is said to be in danger of not being completed before the transfer window opens. It could be a huge blow to Erik ten Hag \u2013 who found his summer transfer window blighted by Financial Fair Play concerns within Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
The investment of around \u00a31.4bn was hoped to have been ratified at a board meeting involving the Glazers, which was due to be held on Thursday afternoon. But no meaningful discussions regarding the impending investment are believed to have taken place.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail, lawyers are still continuing to work on the finer details of what is a complex agreement, with insiders warning that a final agreement could still be \u2018weeks\u2019 away. <\/p>\n
Should the deal be delayed, then it will have significant implications regarding the New York Stock Exchange and Premier League requirements that would make it \u2018unlikely\u2019 that the Ineos chief would be in his role at United by the beginning of 2024.<\/p>\n

Given United\u2019s previous concerns regarding FFP in the summer window, without Ratcliffe\u2019s investment in January, it\u2019s believed that the view from within the club would mean players such as Harry Maguire would need to be sold or leave the club on loan in order to free up room for incomings. <\/p>\n
However, major moves in January are unlikely regardless of the Brit\u2019s injection of cash. It\u2019s said that the meeting between 12 board members was pre-planned before the breakthrough in the minority investment from Ratcliffe, with the intention of the meeting to discuss financial matters at the club instead.<\/p>\n
Should Ratcliffe\u2019s minority investment be approved, he made it clear to the Glazers that he wants to take full charge of the footballing side of the club which could lead to a complete overhaul of United\u2019s recruitment department. Ratcliffe previously admitted in a meeting with the club\u2019s hierarchy in March that he wouldn\u2019t have sanctioned the \u00a370million signing of an ageing Casemiro. <\/p>\n
