{"id":294270,"date":"2023-10-19T19:24:32","date_gmt":"2023-10-19T19:24:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/?p=294270"},"modified":"2023-10-19T19:24:32","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T19:24:32","slug":"algeria-national-boss-grabs-west-ham-star-said-benrahma-by-his-shirt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/soccer\/algeria-national-boss-grabs-west-ham-star-said-benrahma-by-his-shirt\/","title":{"rendered":"Algeria national boss GRABS West Ham star Said Benrahma by his shirt"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Algeria national team boss GRABS West Ham star Said Benrahma by his shirt &#8211; after winger refused to shake hands with the manager during their 1-1 draw with Egypt<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Algeria&#8217;s manager grabbed Said Benrahma by his shirt in a shocking video<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The incident occurred after Benrahma was substituted during their 1-1 draw<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Algeria&#8217;s manager was seen grabbing West Ham star Said Benrahma by his shirt during his side&#8217;s 1-1 draw with Egypt\u00a0on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred in the 63rd minute after Algeria coach\u00a0Djamel Belmadi opted to substitute the Hammers winger in place of Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Benrahma painted a dejected figure as he, initially, attempted to walk past Belmadi and straight to the substitutes bench.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, his manager was adamant that he would receive a hand-shake from the former Brentford star and made that clear as he confronted Benrahma immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a clip that since went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, Belmadi can be seen grabbing Benrahma by the collar of his shirt &#8211; leaving the winger startled.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/17\/12\/76655183-12639799-image-a-6_1697542418899.jpg\" height=\"310\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/17\/12\/76655181-12639799-image-m-5_1697542413623.jpg\" height=\"310\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi was seen grabbing Said Benrahma by his shirt collar on Monday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/17\/12\/76655215-12639799-image-a-7_1697542450795.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred during Algeria&#8217;s 1-1 draw with Egypt in an international friendly game<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>The national team coach was seen pulling Benrahma close to his face as they exchanged words in a heated touchline encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Belmadi painted an irate figure while the West Ham star seemed somewhat bemused by his manager&#8217;s aggression.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Algeria were trailing 1-0 after\u00a0Hamdi Fathi gave Eygpt the lead in the 62nd minute with a close-ranger header.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, former Leicester City striker Islam Slimani levelled the score for Belmadi&#8217;s side deep in added time after guiding a header into the back of the net.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Benrahma, 28, has made 21 appearances for Algeria&#8217;s national team since making his debut back in 2015 and has gone on to score one goal during that time.<\/p>\n<p>Since joining West Ham back in 2020, Benrahma has gone on to make 143 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During that time, he&#8217;s managed to score 24 goals and lay on another 19 assists for his team-mates.
