Dana White has lashed out after USADA after the anti-doping programme announced their partnership with the UFC will end.

Travis Tygart, the CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency, announced on Wednesday Conor McGregor had officially re-entered the testing-pool, which has a six-month and two test requirement to get back into the Octagon.

However, he added talks had broken down in their partnership with the UFC and USADA would stop providing their clean athlete testing process for the organisation in 2024.

Tygart said: "We have been clear and firm with the UFC that there should be no exception given by the UFC for McGregor to fight until he has returned two negative tests and been in the pool for at least six months.

"The rules also allow USADA to keep someone in the testing pool longer before competing based on their declarations upon entry in the pool and testing results.

"Unfortunately, we do not currently know whether the UFC will ultimately honour the six-month or longer requirement because, as of January 1, 2024, USADA will no longer be involved with the UFC Anti-Doping Program."

UFC president White said on the Pat McAfee show in response: "Well, let me just start with this. It wasn't an announcement [by the UFC]. It was a dirty move by [USADA].

"There was no announcement yesterday. That was straight up scumbag-ism, what happened yesterday. So, that will all be addressed today.

"Not by me. I’ll let [Jeff Novitzky] and our lawyer Hunter Campbell handle that. The you-know-what is about to hit the fan on that one."

UFC's chief business officer Hunter Campbell went on to threaten legal action against USADA following statements made by their long-term drug testing parter.

Accusing them of defamation, Campbell has called for a formal apology by Thursday afternoon, with eyes now on USADA CEO Tygart and any response.

It is currently unclear how the UFC will proceeded with both their testing process and the return of McGregor, who hasn't fought since his July 2021 defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, but could be earmarked to headline UFC 300.
