Premier League cult heroes Roque Santa Cruz and Morten Gamst Pedersen are both still finding the net at 42-years-old.<\/p>\n
The pair were part of a Blackburn side that also included other Premier League icons such as Tugay and David Dunn. However, while others in that squad have long since hung up their boots – Pedersen and Santa Cruz are still playing football to their top of their abilities. <\/p>\n
Santa Cruz went viral on social media over the weekend as Twitter users shared a video of him scoring a bullet header. The Paraguayan is back in his homeland with Libertad, and he found the net in a 5-1 win.<\/p>\n

Santa Cruz made his proffesional debut in 1997, aged 15, and he has scored at least one goal in every single year since 1998. The Paraguayan left Blackburn in 2009 for an ill-fated spell with Manchester City.<\/p>\n
However, Santa Cruz isn't the only ex-Rover who was provong age is just a number and, back in Europe, Pedersen, was also on target.<\/p>\n

Pedersen left Blackburn in 2013 and, after a period in Turkey, he returned home to Norway – where he played in the top division for <\/b>Rosenborg. The midfielder is from the far north of the Scandinavian country, and he moved to some local clubs in Norway's lower divisions in 2019.<\/p>\n
However, Pedersen has experienced something of a late career revival – scoring from corners most weeks. In 2021, he told The Athletic: "\u201cIf I\u2019d been luckier, there would\u2019ve been a few more. I\u2019ve hit the post four or five times.<\/p>\n
\u201cMark Hughes always used to say to me, \u2018If you don\u2019t buy a ticket in the lottery, you\u2019re never going to win\u2019. It\u2019s not about embarrassing the goalkeeper. I want to score a goal. But of course, when I speak to the goalkeeper afterwards, they sometimes say, \u2018Why did you embarrass me like that?\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
