Kai Rooney might have given away his dad, Wayne’s, next management position after it was spotted he had begun following Birmingham City players on Instagram.<\/p>\n
Rooney Snr confirmed he was leaving his post in charge of MLS side DC United and is now planning to move back to England to continue his coaching career.<\/p>\n
Announcing the decision in America, Rooney said: ‘I think it\u2019s just the right time. I\u2019ve done everything I can to try and get the club into the playoffs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘It\u2019s not been a single thing which has happened. It\u2019s about timing in your career. I\u2019ve really enjoyed my time here. I\u2019ve had a lot of great help from the owners…I just feel like it\u2019s the right time for me to back to England, first to obviously see my family.’<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old has been tipped with taking over at Birmingham with the club’s current manager\u00a0John Eustace being monitored by a host of Premier League\u00a0clubs after a strong start to the season.<\/p>\n

Rooney has confirmed he is leaving DC United and returning to England<\/p>\n
Mail Sport reported in September that the former England captain was a possible target for Birmingham should Eustace ever leave.<\/p>\n
Rooney’s eldest son, Kai, could be giving an indication that the Birmingham dugout is his dad’s next location after following a host of first-team and academy players on social media.<\/p>\n
The 13-year-old is currently part of Manchester United’s academy set-up and has been developing as a striker at his dad’s former side who he earned legendary status at.<\/p>\n
Rooney is United’s all-time leading goalscorer with 253 goals for the club, with Kai impressing in the club’s youth ranks where he is often deployed as a striker as well.<\/p>\n

13-year-old Kai is currently a rising star in Manchester United’s academy set-up\u00a0<\/p>\n
The teenager’s Instagram profile shows an increase in accounts followed with Birmingham players and the club’s official account being tracked by Kai.<\/p>\n
Over 15 accounts of Birmingham players are now being followed and supporters believe this is an indication a change could soon be coming in the Birmingham technical area.<\/p>\n
Kai is now following the social media accounts of the Birmingham men’s and women’s team, Gary Gardner, Marc Roberts, Neil Etheridge and other players.<\/p>\n
Birmingham supporters have been debating the topic on social media with many believing the online activity is a definitive suggestion Rooney could be on his way to Birmingham, while others argue Kai could be moving from Man United to the Championship side.<\/p>\n
