It&#8217;s massive and you can feel the heat from a distance.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/19\/76217139-12599081-image-m-9_1696529245042.jpg\" height=\"834\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Firefighters are battling a huge blaze at the luxury golf venue where Europe sensationally won last week&#8217;s Ryder Cup after beating the United States<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/19\/76217137-12599081-image-m-10_1696529255913.jpg\" height=\"798\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Dozens of fire crews were at the scene tackling the massive inferno that sent flames and smoke shooting into the sky<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/18\/76216193-12599081-image-m-16_1696527061782.jpg\" height=\"520\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/18\/76216195-12599081-image-a-17_1696527065890.jpg\" height=\"520\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Footage showed one of the hospitality structures at the Marco Simone golf course in flames on Thursday afternoon<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/18\/76216149-12599081-image-a-12_1696527046432.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Thousands of fans watch on from one of the hospitality structures on the course last week<\/p>\n<p>Police were also at the scene and the cause of the blaze is being investigated but as yet no injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Italian Golf Federation said:&#8217;The fire is in the grandstand that was set up for the Ryder Cup and it&#8217;s being dismantled but that&#8217;s all we know.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The fire broke out at the first hole and in footage posted online determined golfers could still be seen playing the 18th despite the massive blaze.<\/p>\n<p>Built for last week\u2019s tournament the grandstand hosted hospitality for spectators and housed bars and restaurants for the three day event.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said it was made from metal, wood and had a plastic covering which was causing the fire to spread and smoke rapidly as it is highly flammable.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/18\/76216895-12599081-image-a-6_1696528326298.jpg\" height=\"424\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fans surround the 18th green as Shane Lowry of Team Europe at Marco Simone Golf Club on October 1<\/p>\n<p>The grandstand which took several months to build was being dismantled so the course could return to normal by December.<\/p>\n<p>There were unconfirmed reports in the Italian media the fire was sparked by fuel or gas canisters left over by caterers.<\/p>\n<p>The Marco Simone golf club in Rome was seen on fire on Thursday, just days after hosting the 2023\u00a0Ryder Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Footage which emerged on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed the hospitality structure of the course engulfed in fire and smoke.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s still unknown as to what started the fire or if there were any injuries as a result. Between them, they contributed 10.5 of Europe&#8217;s 16.5-point total.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;They&#8217;ve had unbelievable Ryder Cup careers and they&#8217;ve made their choices.
