Alex Scott has secured the seal of approval from new beau Jess Glynne's parents who called the football legend 'wonderful'.

The Arsenal icon has been dating the British singer-songwriter for the past two months, reported by MailOnline, with Scott already taking the step to meeting Glynne's parents. The 38-year-old – who is the host of Football Focus – began her relationship with Glynne, 33, over the summer and have been spotted embracing during a coffee date.

A family source said: "Jess's parents have always supported her throughout her life and are delighted that she's found love with Alex. They've met Alex and think she's wonderful. But they realise that she's quite a high-profile figure and are reluctant to speak too much about her and their daughter." The pair enjoyed a trip to Wimbledon last July as well as being snapped enjoying a drink at a pub in August.

The source added: "Alex and Jess have been careful about rushing things but the fact that Alex has already met her parents shows you how serious they are about each other. They are very happy together." While the rumours of their romance continues to swirl, the ex-Arsenal ace hasn't publicly confirmed that she's in a relationship but did open up about 'struggling' with her love life and found solace with Jamie Redknapp who advised her in the search of love.

Back in March earlier this year, the former England international said the ex-Liverpool captain told her about Raya – a dating app used exclusively by celebrities. She revealed the difficulties of finding a partner during an interview with Grazia magazine where she said: "It's really hard [to find someone] cause people have a load of preconceptions. I struggle with apps.

"For me, it's all about connection that instant connection with someone and conversation and I'm like 'Oh wow.' I remember Jamie Redknapp telling me 'There's a dating app Raya…' So I was on it but I was to scared to connect with anyone." Prior to getting on the app, she explained she was 'open' to getting to know both men and women.

Glynne, who won a Grammy Award in 2015, also previously opened up about her dating life and sexuality following the release of her album in 2015. She told the Daily Star: "I've only ever been with one girl in my life and that's the girl from my album [2015's I Cry When I Laugh]. I'm never going to put a label on my sexuality and people should never feel uncomfortable about who they love."
