{"id":293269,"date":"2023-10-05T12:25:12","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T12:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/?p=293269"},"modified":"2023-10-05T12:25:12","modified_gmt":"2023-10-05T12:25:12","slug":"michail-antonio-claims-he-actually-won-the-game-over-liverpool-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/soccer\/michail-antonio-claims-he-actually-won-the-game-over-liverpool-fans\/","title":{"rendered":"Michail Antonio claims he actually &apos;won the game&apos; over Liverpool fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Michail Antonio claims he actually &#8216;won the game&#8217; against Liverpool &#8211; despite losing 3-1 &#8211; because he wound up Reds fans who are still messaging him EVERY day<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Michail Antonio reemerges following comments made before Liverpool clash<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>The West Ham striker admits he was wrong but still got in Reds fans heads\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Michail Antonio has finally broken his silence over his Liverpool jibes, and claimed that he still really &#8216;won the game&#8217; over the fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The West Ham striker made headlines by widely boasting about his club&#8217;s fortunes ahead of the clash at Anfield last month, during an episode of <span>The Footballer&#8217;s Football Podcast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Antonio boldly predicted that the Hammers would beat then-unbeaten Liverpool and eventually finish above the Reds in the Premier League table.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, after David Moyes&#8217; team were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool, Antonio failed to appear on the following episode of the show, with co-host Callum Wilson happy to relay the forward&#8217;s disappointing stats from his performance on Merseyside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Antonio has however, now remerged and claimed his absence was down to a set-up from his podcast team, rather them him ducking out of the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/11\/76199019-12597315-image-m-2_1696501917634.jpg\" height=\"471\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Michail Antonio has reemerged following comments he made on a podcast ahead of West Ham&#8217;s game against Liverpool\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/11\/76199049-12597315-image-a-3_1696501932783.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Antonio predicted that West Ham would beat Liverpool but the Hammers lost 3-1 at Anfield\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/11\/76199071-12597315-image-m-7_1696501969951.jpg\" height=\"393\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Co-host Callum Wilson was quick to dig Michail out over the comments and his performance\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;All I&#8217;m saying is you guys are acting like I evaded [the podcast], I was busy.&#8217; Antonio explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Then I was messaging Darren &#8211; because Darren is the man who sorts all of this you, yeah &#8211; I was like &#8216;I&#8217;m free this day&#8217;, he says &#8216;nah, we did it last night&#8217;. Okay, alright. Y&#8217;all just wanted the sauce on me. It&#8217;s fine.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After pleading his case, the 33-year-old addressed his comments ahead of the Liverpool clash and was happy to admit that he&#8217;d got his prediction wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Admitting: &#8216;I got a big pie in my face, yeah, it&#8217;s no problem. I ain&#8217;t worried. It is what it is. I would do it again &#8211; I will do it again!<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We started the game off well, had a good couple of opportunities. If I took my opportunity I think the game would of been different with the lead that we would have had, and we&#8217;d probably hold onto it because what we do know how to do is hold onto a lead.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The Jamaican International still had the last word on the matter though, claiming that even though West Ham lost the match, he still &#8216;won the game&#8217; down to how obsessed fans became with him and the comments he made.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/05\/11\/76199047-12597315-image-a-4_1696501936455.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The West Ham striker claims he&#8217;s still in Liverpool fans heads despite the defeat last month\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adding: &#8216;I swear to you, if we won that game, some would have turned up to my house! If we won that game, I was so implanted in these Liverpool fans heads they would have turned up to my house. It was a madness. It went everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The amount of messages I got all week from Liverpool fans after the game. I probably won the game even though I didn&#8217;t win because how I&#8217;m still implanted [in your heads]?
