Manchester United's struggling goalkeeper Andre Onana may choose not to play for Cameroon at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old announced his retirement from international duty back in December but was recalled in August after joining United for an initial fee of \u00a343million on a five-year deal. However, his form is said to be playing on his mind.<\/p>\n
ESPN report that Onana is considering not playing for his country at the tournament that runs between January and February because of his struggles at club level. The report adds that a series of costly mistakes has meant that he is reluctant to spend time away.<\/p>\n

Onana, who won three Eredivisie titles with Ajax and the Coppa Italia with Inter, finished third at AFCON back in 2021. His return to the fold came, which came after a disagreement with manager Rigobert Song, was assisted by pressure from the Cameroon FA.<\/p>\n
Should he fail to cut out the errors that have ruined his first few months at United, he might not be able to add to his 35 caps in the New Year. Ten Hag said after the recent blunder that led to Casemiro's red card in the defeat against Galatasaray: "We are happy with our goalkeeping group.<\/p>\n
