{"id":292288,"date":"2023-09-27T18:34:34","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T18:34:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/?p=292288"},"modified":"2023-09-27T18:34:34","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T18:34:34","slug":"ngannou-urges-commission-to-do-their-job-and-check-furys-gloves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/boxing\/ngannou-urges-commission-to-do-their-job-and-check-furys-gloves\/","title":{"rendered":"Ngannou urges commission to &apos;do their job&apos; and check Fury&apos;s gloves"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Francis Ngannou urges the commission to &#8216;do their job&#8217; and check Tyson Fury&#8217;s gloves properly ahead of their crossover bout after Deontay Wilder previously complained they were a &#8216;secret weapon&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ngannou hopes the commission do their job properly and check Fury&#8217;s gloves<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span>He has heard other boxers complaining\u00a0about the Gypsy King&#8217;s gloves<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The former UFC star will go toe-to-toe with Fury in Saudi Arabia on October 28\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Francis Ngannou has doubled down on his claims about Tyson Fury&#8217;s gloves and urged the commission to &#8216;do their job&#8217; properly by reviewing them in detail before their crossover bout.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou will go toe-to-toe with Fury in a highly anticipated crossover bout that will take place in Saudi Arabia, as part of Riyadh Season &#8211; the annual entertainment and sports festival &#8211; on October 28.<\/p>\n<p>It will be the first time Ngannou has ever competed in a sanctioned boxing bout, but the former UFC heavyweight champion is confident he can cause an upset by beating Fury.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Ngannou expressed concerns over Fury&#8217;s gloves earlier in the week, telling Joe Rogan that he had &#8216;heard a lot of complaints about the Gypsy Kings gloves&#8217; as many boxer felt there was &#8216;no protection&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to discuss the matter in more detail after working out with Mike Tyson in the gym, Ngannou said: &#8216;Well, I just hope we have the right commission, the right people who do their job and check those gloves.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/27\/18\/75903541-12567085-image-a-1_1695835710076.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Francis Ngannou has called for checks to be made on Tyson Fury&#8217;s gloves ahead of their fight<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/27\/18\/75903547-12567085-image-a-2_1695835753441.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Deontay Wilder (left) is among those to raise concerns about the Gypsy King&#8217;s (right) gloves\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/27\/18\/75903553-12567085-image-a-3_1695835779650.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Ngannou (right) wants assurances that Fury&#8217;s (left) gloves meet regulation guidelines which state they can&#8217;t be twisted, manipulated, altered or ill-fitted\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The former UFC champion went on to add: &#8216;It&#8217;s not only one fighter that has spoken about his gloves. So, I would rather get that figured out before the fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have never fought him, so I can&#8217;t make it as a statement but I do hear that there is something wrong with his gloves.\u00a0 It might be true or it might not be true but I need to at least double check and make sure before the fight.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fury&#8217;s former opponent Deontay Wilder previously raised concerns that the heavyweight champion didn&#8217;t have sufficient padding in his gloves prior to their trilogy fight.<\/p>\n<p>Fury previously used traditional horse hair padding in his gloves that Nevada\u00a0State Athletic Commission (NASC) officials confirmed were permitted to be used prior to his former contest with the American.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Ngannou is still conscious about Fury&#8217;s gloves and wants to ensure they met\u00a0regulation guidelines &#8211;
