I don&#8217;t want to put a time on it until we get confirmation from the specialist, but I think it will be months rather than weeks.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/26\/10\/75842385-0-image-a-36_1695720187314.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Newcastle&#8217;s Harvey Barnes faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a foot injury<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/26\/10\/75842387-0-image-m-38_1695720208348.jpg\" height=\"388\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Boss Eddie Howe confirmed it was a &#8216;substantial&#8217; problem but backed him to return stronger<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes went down off the ball before calling for treatment, and Howe added: \u2018I don&#8217;t think it was a tackle, it was just pushing off to run, a very unusual injury. I won&#8217;t go too technical because I&#8217;m not medically qualified to do so, but yes, very unusual.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Barnes was making only his second Premier League start since joining from Leicester, but could now face a battle to feature before December.<\/p>\n<p>Howe said: \u2018He was down after the game because he knew it wasn\u2019t a normal injury, where you feel a muscle and think that might be one or two weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This was a slightly more complex issue and I think he probably feared the worst, because there was no one around him and it was one of those mechanisms where he knew it wasn\u2019t quite right.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There\u2019s no doubt he\u2019ll be disappointed because he was very keen to show his value and worth, and Sunday was an opportunity to do that.
