Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome has been branded a "legend" on social media for recreating a viral video.

In the ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) clip – a type of video often involving the whispering of words that produces a relaxing sensation across the scalp or spine for the viewer – a glamorous woman can be seen tapping parts of a car, while whispering the name of the luxury car brand, Bentley. And Froome decided to share his own hilarious take with his Factor bike.

Froome's video cuts between the pair's clips, and as the Bentley woman taps her hub caps, Froome does the same to his forks. And sports' fans have branded the cycling icon a "legend" for the hilarious video.

"One thing I never expected to see on the internet: Chris Froome ASMR," one fan joked. While a second shared: "I have been laughing non stop since I spotted it on Insta 24 minutes ago this is amazing!"

"Chris Froome is a certified Twitter legend," a third said. And another added: "This video is incredibly weird but also pretty amusing. Quite easy to forget that this guy has won 7 Grand Tours when he's out there mocking influencers (who deserve to be mocked, of course) like this…"

Froome, who last pulled on the famous yellow jersey in 2017, was a notable omission from the start list this year in the Basque Country. The four-time winner has been on a long road to recovery following a terrifying crash in 2019 that left him in intensive car.

Now one of the oldest riders in the peloton, Froome is looking to roll back the years one last time before he hangs up his cleats.
