The thoughts of everyone at The FA and the FA Women&#8217;s National League are with Maddy&#8217;s friends and family at this incredibly sad time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;All remaining FA Women&#8217;s National League fixtures that are going ahead this Sunday will hold a minute&#8217;s silence before kick-off to honour and pay tribute to Maddy.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Cusack, who was named vice-captain last month, had just started her sixth season with the team in the Women&#8217;s Championship. She also worked as a marketing executive at the club, who said they were &#8216;devastated&#8217; by her death.<\/p>\n<p>Her heartbroken brother, Richard Cusack, paid tribute on Thursday, tweeting: &#8216;My beautiful sister. May you rest in peace Maddy.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/22\/16\/75735387-0-image-m-5_1695397023317.jpg\" height=\"467\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Cusack was Sheffield United&#8217;s longest-serving player having registered her 100th appearance last season<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/22\/16\/75735385-12550167-She_joined_the_club_in_2019_and_also_worked_as_a_marketing_execu-m-153_1695397958693.jpg\" height=\"491\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>She first joined the club in 2019 and also worked as a\u00a0marketing executive for the Blades<\/p>\n<p>Cusack joined Sheffield United halfway through their first campaign in the women&#8217;s second tier in January 2019 and last season became the first woman to reach 100 appearances for the club.<\/p>\n<p>The former England youth international, who was the longest-serving player in their current squad, signed a new contract extension with the club in July.<\/p>\n<p>After agreeing to extend her stay at Sheffield United, Cusack said: &#8216;I think everyone knows how much I love this club. This club is my home.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Cusack last played for the Blades on August 27 in a 1-1 draw against Charlton Athletic.
