The AFL and Players’ Association have reached agreement on a five-year deal worth $2.2 billion that will result in the minimum wage for AFLW players reaching $70,000 by 2026, and a significant increase in the average wage for male players.

The first joint CBA will also result in standard three-year contracts introduced for first round draft picks in the men’s competition, while mid-season trading will also be implemented over the duration of the agreement.

AFLW players have won an agreement to push the season beyond 10 games, plus finals, as they look to play each team once a season before finals.
