Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich contract includes a buy-back clause, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy reportedly said at the Tottenham fan forum.

England’s all-time top scorer moved to the Bavarian giants in a £100million move this summer and there was no suggestion of a buy-back clause at the time.

However, Levy revealed the detail as he spoke at the first Tottenham fans forum for five years.

He took questions from fans in a 90-minute Q&A alongside Ange Postecoglou, Heung-Min Son, women’s team manager Robert Vilahamn and women’s team captain Beth England.

His comment regarding the buy-back clause is quoted by the Evening Standard, although there is no indication what value it is.

‘There is a buy back clause’, he said, but did not elaborate further on the details of the clause.

Kane enjoyed a two-decade association with the club and was their top scorer for nine consecutive seasons, scoring more goals than anyone else for the side with 280.

He has settled into Bayern Munich life well, scoring four goals in five games as they sit second in the Bundesliga.

Ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester United, he said: ‘I’ll keep an eye on Tottenham for the rest of my life.

‘I’m really happy to see the team playing the way they are and to see the fans happy is a great thing. They’ve got a massive game coming up [Arsenal on Sunday] so, for sure, I’ll see how they get on over the course of the season.’

Fans speculated that Kane might be motivated to return to his beloved London club to try and topple Alan Shearer from the summit of the Premier League’s all-time top scorer list.

Kane trails 47 goals behind the legendary poacher’s long-standing record of 260, a difference which would likely take at least two seasons to make up.

He is only 30 years old and with lots of strikers showing impressive longevity nowadays, supporters hope he could enjoy a trophy-laden stint at Bayern before returning to Spurs to have a crack at the challenge.
