{"id":290680,"date":"2023-09-15T08:34:17","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T08:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/?p=290680"},"modified":"2023-09-15T08:34:17","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T08:34:17","slug":"luton-town-contact-disrespectful-bbc-pundit-garth-crooks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tellmysport.com\/soccer\/luton-town-contact-disrespectful-bbc-pundit-garth-crooks\/","title":{"rendered":"Luton Town contact &apos;disrespectful&apos; BBC pundit Garth Crooks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Luton Town contact &#8216;disrespectful&#8217; BBC pundit Garth Crooks to &#8216;show him&#8217; he&#8217;s wrong&#8230; after he tipped them to be relegated before Christmas<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Luton have accused BBC pundit Garth Crooks of being disrespectful\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Crooks tipped Luton to be relegated by Christmas after losing first three games\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has revealed that the club have contacted Garth Crooks to show him that he&#8217;s wrong after the BBC pundit tipped them to be relegated before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>It has been a challenging start for Luton in their first top flight campaign since 1991-92, with Edwards&#8217; side losing their first three games.<\/p>\n<p>After defeats away to Brighton and Chelsea, Luton lost 2-1 to West Ham in their first home game.<\/p>\n<p>That result prompted criticism from Crooks, who said that he can&#8217;t take Luton seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Crooks wrote in his team of the week column:\u00a0&#8216;It&#8217;s good to see the tangerine colours of Luton back in the big league once more, but I can&#8217;t take them seriously, and see them down by Christmas.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/15\/08\/75463619-0-image-a-3_1694763516279.jpg\" height=\"424\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Luton have lost their first three league games of the season after being promoted<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/15\/08\/75463897-12521815-image-m-27_1694764297425.jpg\" height=\"457\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>BBC Sport pundit Crooks claimed that Luton will be relegated from the top flight by Christmas<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards wasn&#8217;t pleased with Crooks&#8217; comments, stating that the former Tottenham player had been &#8216;disrespectful&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by BBC Sport, Edwards said:\u00a0&#8216;I think after three games it is disrespectful. It does hurt when you hear comments like that. When people tell you that, it&#8217;s hard to shy away from it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;At this level in the Premier League you&#8217;re going to be shot at, people are going to have their opinions and I suppose that&#8217;s what he&#8217;s paid to do but I think it was a disrespectful comment.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Edwards stated that Luton have invited Crooks to visit the club in order to show him their vision.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;We have reached out to Mr Crooks so he can come in and we can show him what we do with our plan and that we&#8217;re not a team to be laughed at.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Our job is to get good results and performances and to change people&#8217;s minds.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Luton are back in action on Saturday when they face Fulham away.
