of putting on a performance against Chris Eubank Jr in their highly anticipated rematch.<\/p>\n<p>Smith suffered a tenth-round defeat to Eubank Jr on Saturday night, after he was dropped twice and suffered a cut above his eye before the contest was waved off.<\/p>\n<p>The result saw Eubank Jr earn revenge after Smith had beaten him with a\u00a0devastating fourth-round knockout in January.<\/p>\n<p>Smith, a former WBC light-middleweight champion, suggested after the fight that his weight cut had played a factor in his performance.<\/p>\n<p>The 35-year-old said he had come down three stone since their rematch in June had been postponed after he suffered a back injury.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75045793-12479203-image-a-37_1693840373867.jpg\" height=\"430\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Liam Smith suffered defeat to\u00a0Chris Eubank Jr after being stopped in the tenth round<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75045861-12479203-image-a-40_1693840494359.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Carl Froch has claimed\u00a0Smith&#8217;s drastic weight cut had made him incapable of performing<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75045807-12479203-image-a-38_1693840400509.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Smith admitted post fight that he had shed three stone ahead of his showdown with Eubank Jr<\/p>\n<p>Froch, a\u00a0three-time world champion, claimed Smith was surviving from the outset of the fight due to being &#8216;badly weight drained&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The Cobra claimed to his former rival George Groves on talkSPORT&#8217;s &#8216;The Verdict&#8217; that Smith&#8217;s weight cut had meant he was &#8216;physically incapable&#8217; of performing against Eubank Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Froch suggested Smith had almost been &#8216;conning the fans&#8217; due to his condition heading into the fight.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t want to take anything away from Chris Eubanks performance and I don\u2019t want to write off Liam Smith too much, but Liam Smith was that bad,&#8217;
