Jurgen Klopp has reaffirmed his stance on Liverpool supporters singing his song during games, urging the Reds faithful to channel all their energy toward the players on the pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Anfield club host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon and the German manager took the opportunity to revisit the topic in his programme notes for the game.<\/p>\n
Klopp reacted somewhat angrily to chants of his name during a win against Bournemouth last month, but was keen to address the reason why he feels renditions of ‘I’m so Glad (That Jurgen is a Red)’ are best saved until after the final whistle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘The first thing I have to say about it is I absolutely love it.’ he wrote. ‘To have a song sung in my name by the supporters of this club is something so special that I cannot put my feelings into words, but it is an honour that would have been beyond my imagination when I became Liverpool manager.<\/p>\n
‘I say this because I do not want there to be any misunderstanding. I love that the song exists. I love that it is sung.\u00a0And, more than anything else, I am humbled that the supporters who I love want to sing it when they come to Anfield.<\/p>\n
