There are nine players at risk of being hit with a one-match suspension by the Premier League this weekend as bookings begin to play their part in how the opening stages of the season pan out. Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon are among the players to have already been hit with a short suspension, and players from several other top clubs are now at risk.
Manchester United’s struggles continued over the weekend when they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City, and they will be hoping to bounce back to form when they travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham. Captain Bruno Fernandes will need to be on his best behaviour against Marco Silva’s side though, with his last-minute booking against City taking his tally for the campaign up to four.
Tottenham could also be without a pivotal player later this month if Yves Bissouma is booked against Chelsea on Monday night. The Mali midfielder has already faced a one-match suspension after receiving two yellow cards against Luton Town, but he risks another spell on the sidelines if he is unable to keep his tough-tackling nature under control.
If Bissouma receives a booking against the Blues then he will miss his side’s trip to Wolves. Gary O’Neil’s side could also be without a midfielder for that match as well – Mario Lemina.

The ex-Southampton star has already received a one-match suspension after being shown a second yellow card against Aston Villa in early October, but another booking against Sheffield United on Saturday will take his total to five for the campaign and rule him out of the match against Spurs.
Liverpool playmaker Alexis Mac Allister is also at risk of suspension following his booking against Nottingham Forest over the weekend. The Argentina international will be hopeful of avoiding a yellow card against Luton Town, though Jurgen Klopp has apt cover if he decides not to run the risk of playing his ex-Brighton star.

Eddie Howe is unlikely to rotate his side to prevent Bruno Guimaraes from receiving his fifth booking of the season against Arsenal on Saturday. The Brazilian has impressed for the Magpies and any form of suspension would be a big miss for the Toon Army.
Four players will be treading on eggshells on Sunday when Nottingham Forest take on Aston Villa at the City Ground. Villa duo Lucas Digne and Douglas Luiz and Forests’ Orel Magala and Ibrahim Sangare have received four yellow cards each so far this season and the quartet will each be hoping to avoid a one-match suspension.
