Lionel Messi can now add Selena Gomez to his ever-growing list of A-List celebrity fans.
The Barcelona legend has been one of Hollywood’s biggest draws, ever since he secured his move to Inter Miami. He has already amassed a jaw-dropping 11 goals and five assists in just 11 appearances in all competitions.
The likes of LeBron James, Serena Williams, and actor Owen Wilson have been spotted, wide-eyed in admiration, in the stands of the DRV PNK Arena.
Pop star and actor Gomez was the latest star to watch Messi strut his stuff in the MLS. While she was one of the rare few to not see him find the net in the States, she still had a gushing message for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

After the match, a supporter asked her to drop a message for the Argentina captain. “Oh yes,” she instantly replied when asked to explain her affection for him. “I love you very much.”
Messi’s arrival has had an astonishing impact on Miami’s fortunes, both on and off the pitch. He arrived into a team that had sacked previous manager Phil Neville, after the side was rock bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference.

Ever since his arrival, Miami have won the Leagues Cup, reached the final of the US Open Cup and have also put together an impressive 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions. His brilliance has also attracted the interest of Hollywood royalty.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were amongst the latest A-List named to attend a game. Another huge figure to be left awestruck by Messi’s brilliance was Zoolander and Marley and Me star Wilson, who was also lucky to watch Pele play for the New York Cosmos between 1975 and 1977.
“I remember as a kid it was such a huge deal when Pele played for the Cosmos, and it feels like that again with Messi except maybe even bigger,” Wilson said after Miami’s 3-1 victory over LAFC.
“I think it's already doing it for the MLS. You can see the excitement. I had a friend in Dallas, they’re going to the games. Just all over the country. Even my mother is now really into it.”
