Sanchez ‘wants to leave Man Utd’ – talks underway for potential move

Alexis Sanchez has told his agent he wants to leave Manchester United, according to reports.

The Chilean has just four goals in 29 appearances since joining United from Arsenal in January and has recently struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI.

Spanish broadcaster El Chiringuito claims Sanchez is already eyeing an exit from Old Trafford, with his agent Fernando Felicevich reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over a possible switch.

The Spanish giants could look to make a move in the January transfer window, with summer arrival Mariano Diaz struggling to make an impact since returning to the Bernabeu.

A move to Real Madrid wouldn’t go down well in Barcelona, where the 29-year-old spent three years before moving to the Premier League in 2014.

The Chile international was a revelation at Arsenal, bagging 80 goals in 166 appearances and helping the Gunners to two FA Cups.

Sanchez has struggled to replicate the form he displayed for the north London giants since joining United at the start of the year, and was dropped for the Manchester derby defeat last weekend, despite Mourinho saying he was ‘available for the team’.

Sanchez was dropped from the United squad completely for the 3-1 defeat at West Ham back in September, a decision that reportedly left him furious with Red Devils boss Mourinho.

The forward angered United fans at the weekend after appearing to laugh on the bench while his team were losing to rivals Manchester City.

With half-time moments away and the Red Devils trailing 1-0, Sanchez and team-mate Juan Mata were seen smiling and joking on the bench.

United fans immediately reacted to the footage with one supporter tweeting: "That Mata and Sanchez smile just shows how those players don’t give a f***."

United went on to lose the derby 3-1 at the Etihad, with David Silva opening the scoring for the hosts, before Sergio Aguero doubled their lead shortly after the restart.

The Red Devils pulled one back through an Anthony Martial penalty, before Ilkay Gundogan sealed the points for Pep Guardiola’s men five minutes from time.
