Roy Keane’s captaincy style mirrored the manager who coached him at Manchester United, as the great Sir Alex Ferguson was no stranger to giving his players the hairdryer treatment.
Besides Fergie, not one player in the dressing room would even raise a peep at the Irishman and typical of Keane, a match in 2004 saw him berate a young and promising Ronaldo after a shocking miss.

United faced Southampton at Old Trafford in December and were coasting to an easy win after goals from Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney put United two-to-the-good.
As the game wound down, a Scholes shot was parried out by Kasey Keller, an emergency loan ‘keeper who’d shot down from Tottenham to feature that day.
